It was given the brief in\n[../reader_brief.md](../reader_brief.md) and these 11 notes:\n\n- `docs/research/dogfood-run-6-israel-palestine-cross-domain.md`\n- `docs/research/nativism-thread-and-false-dissolution.md`\n- `docs/research/the-remaining-case-for-the-stance-guard.md`\n- `docs/research/assembly-theory-and-the-reuse-mechanism.md`\n- `docs/research/contingency-and-convergence-across-levels.md`\n- `docs/research/why-representations-converge-and-whether-minds-do.md`\n- `docs/research/embeddings-tension-and-ai-slop.md`\n- `docs/research/wiki-that-writes-itself-and-productive-friction.md`\n- `docs/research/steelmanned-critiques.md`\n- `docs/research/zizek-schmachtenberger-connections.md`\n- `docs/research/consensus-path-forward.md`\n\nIt made 92 tool calls. Its report is below, unchanged. What was kept from it, after the quoted words were\nchecked by code and both passages of each finding were opened, is in `../found.jsonl` (lines whose `where`\nnames this file).\n\n---\n\n11 of 11 notes read in full.\n\n### F1\ntarget: docs/research/wiki-that-writes-itself-and-productive-friction.md:199\ntarget_words: \"Extended Brain's article, applied naively to Deliberus, produces: \"make sure users are doing the thinking, not the LLM.\"\"\nolder: docs/research/conviction-and-critique.md:133\nolder_words: \"is to help people by all means mentioned earlier to offload large parts of the work and cost of traversing opacity\"\nkind: contradicts\nwhy: The founder rejected \"the user must do the thinking, not the machine\" as the frame for P14. His correction: offloading is the purpose of Deliberus. The failure was delegation without a confession channel. The note records a session that re-read P14 in the delegation-is-the-hazard frame and had to be corrected. The wiki note's line \"P14 IS Extended Brain's thesis\" (L161) and its summary at L199 reproduce that rejected frame. Anyone adopting \"hormesis\" as P14's affirmative twin would rebuild it.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F2\ntarget: docs/research/wiki-that-writes-itself-and-productive-friction.md:84\ntarget_words: \"Deliberus forbids the LLM from committing anything directly.\"\nolder: docs/research/split-review-and-the-founders-intentions.md:329\nolder_words: \"In March 2026 the design was *\"The LLM suggests; the human commits\"* (Claude's). On 2026-09-21 it\"\nkind: contradicts\nwhy: The next line says that on 2026-09-21 the design became \"the machine writes what it found, and a person corrects\". The same note says the \"confirmation step is sacred\" principles concern an author confirming a rendering of their own words. They are not a ban on machine writes. The 2026-09-13 housekeeping ruling also lets the machine supersede its own unconfirmed links. The wiki note's contrast with Karpathy (\"the LLM writes, Deliberus forbids it\") is therefore wrong as stated.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F3\ntarget: docs/research/zizek-schmachtenberger-connections.md:18\ntarget_words: \"Can unknown knowns be surfaced through a technological interface, or does the very act of making them explicit transform them into something else?\"\nolder: docs/research/what-human-judgment-is-for.md:216\nolder_words: \"The answer this analysis supplies is that the interface is not the instrument — the other person is.\"\nkind: already-answers\nwhy: The older note quotes this exact Žižek challenge (\"recorded and left open\"). It answers that the interface was never the instrument: another positioned person sees your frame, and the lens only holds two frames in one structure. It was ratified into canon on 2026-08-27 as the \"invisible from inside\" conviction. It also reads §1.2's \"gaps\" as the coherent-absence instrument. Someone building the worldview filter from this Žižek passage would otherwise treat the question as open and the filter as the means.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F4\ntarget: docs/research/dogfood-run-6-israel-palestine-cross-domain.md:205\ntarget_words: \"The pattern is worth a founder decision of its own: whether these taxonomies should grow a slot each time,\"\nolder: docs/research/taxonomy-gaps-and-the-closed-enum.md:19\nolder_words: \"So the answer to \"grow a slot each time?\" is: for two of the three, yes eventually. For the third, never.\"\nkind: already-answers\nwhy: This note was written the same day, from these exact three runs. It splits the three gaps. Two are missing values on an existing dimension. One (the speaker-attitude hedge) is a missing dimension, so adding a value would be a category error. It also prescribes a does-not-fit value with a required reason on every enum. That prescription later became canon (\"every closed enum needs a does-not-fit value\"). The run-6 passage reads as an unanswered founder question and is not.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F5\ntarget: docs/research/consensus-path-forward.md:72\ntarget_words: \"graph storage, probabilistic semantics, reputation systems, or the full ontology. Start with the user workflow.\"\nolder: docs/vision.md:142\nolder_words: \"I NEED to get all the philosophy, epistemology, ontology, process, method, evidence, logic,\"\nkind: contradicts\nwhy: The founder ruled the reverse sequencing on 2026-08-27 and the page records it as a \"governing sequencing position, not a mood\". The meta layer is the gate before launch. The page reframes the reviews as \"meta-scaffolding\", never finished. The ruled order of work (CLAUDE.md, 2026-09-13) also puts the reviews ahead of the dogfooding round. The consensus advice (thin slice first, don't start with the ontology, weekly demos to beat the 15-year pattern) is therefore overruled for the current phase.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F6\ntarget: docs/research/why-representations-converge-and-whether-minds-do.md:300\ntarget_words: \"So cosine may propose a pair and may never decide it; the seven-key label set\"\nolder: docs/research/auto-connect-upgrade.md:157\nolder_words: \"both extraction paths**: pass 5, `graph/linker.py` `auto_link_new_claims`, writes a bare `SIMILAR_TO`\"\nkind: contradicts\nwhy: Practice breaks this ruled principle. The linker writes SIMILAR_TO on \"cosine ≥ 0.80 alone, with no model reading the pair\" (the line after the quoted words). Nothing deletes the link when the sameness keeper later reads the pair as opposed. The note counts 56 of 191 links written this way and never read by the keeper, and proposes retiring the linker's write. So \"cosine proposes, never decides\" is true of the design and false of the shipped linker. A person relying on it would trust links nobody read.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F7\ntarget: docs/research/dogfood-run-6-israel-palestine-cross-domain.md:175\ntarget_words: \"A mistyped `decomposes_into` **injects a spurious parent-child relation into the strength computation across two unrelated domains**.\"\nolder: docs/research/session26-open-rulings.md:674\nolder_words: \"since April the step had stored every such answer from the premise to the conclusion, the reverse of a part-of link, 261 links in all\"\nkind: later-correction\nwhy: Ledger row AB11 (ruled 2026-10-07, \"Repair it sure!\") shows the real fault was larger and different. Auto-connect had written every could-be-a-premise answer backwards since April: 261 links, 60% of live part-of links. They carried no weight, because a machine's unconfirmed part caps nothing, so no badge showed it. Run 6's two fixes (a strength floor, a prompt sentence) aim at the wrong fault. The question was taken off the menu and the links retired.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F8\ntarget: docs/research/the-remaining-case-for-the-stance-guard.md:47\ntarget_words: \"So: when the re-check is confident *and* the edge is machine-written and unconfirmed, the machine supersedes it by itself,\"\nolder: docs/research/session26-open-rulings.md:432\nolder_words: \"High confidence\" in the housekeeping ruling means measured calibration, not the pass's own confidence.\nkind: narrows\nwhy: Ledger R12 proposes (a clarifying amendment, still open) that \"confident\" in the housekeeping ruling must mean a measured agreement rate, not the re-check's self-report. Its anchors are the same 14 false links. The founder's 2026-09-29 words match it. Q32 (ruled 2026-09-28) also retired the `confirmed` field, so \"unconfirmed\" now means \"a machine wrote it\". The auto-supersede rule stands only if the entailment re-check has first been measured against those 14.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F9\ntarget: docs/research/assembly-theory-and-the-reuse-mechanism.md:146\ntarget_words: \"needs verification whether one exists; if not, that is a named gap.\"\nolder: docs/research/scheme-set-exhaustiveness.md:165\nolder_words: \"0 of 3,666 scheme-bearing edges**, and 0 of the 3 typed termini.\"\nkind: later-correction\nwhy: The verification the assembly note asks for was done on 2026-09-11. The `does_not_fit` value existed but fired on 0 of 3,666 scheme-bearing edges, read as an alarm because the prompt left a costless neighbour. On 2026-09-13 a single-exit repair was ruled and built, and the value then fired on the right case. So the gap was real, but not the one named. The value existed and was inert. Citing it as a working confession channel would be wrong.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F10\ntarget: docs/research/steelmanned-critiques.md:56\ntarget_words: \"it is evidence that the semantic level at which Claimify operates is *not the level at which disagreement actually lives*.\"\nolder: docs/research/coupling-the-poles.md:79\nolder_words: \"The analytical pole's core operation is subtractive of the other pole's raw material.\"\nkind: already-answers\nwhy: The coupling note grants the critique's mechanism. Pass 2b's stranger test deliberately strips who said it, from what situation, and at what cost. It then checks the schema and finds that `source_span`, `attributed_to` and `raw_text` retain all of it. The loss is \"missing from the read path, not from the data\". That turns an apparently structural category error into a buildable read-path fix. It matters to anyone scoping Critique 2's severity.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F11\ntarget: docs/research/steelmanned-critiques.md:76\ntarget_words: \"The adoption document frames this as a friction problem that LLMs can solve.\"\nolder: docs/research/incentives-analysis.md:17\nolder_words: \"LLMs solved the labor problem. Exposure and social costs are now the binding constraints, and neither is addressed by better tooling.\"\nkind: later-correction\nwhy: The August incentives note adopts Critique 3's \"alternative hypothesis\" in narrowed form. Friction is only one of three costs (labor, exposure, social), and labor is solved. Vagueness is a defensive asset, the same observation as the critique's \"plausible deniability\". It then lists eight conditions (L1 to L8) under which legibility pays, which answers the critique's unanswered question about what social behaviour a map maps onto. A reader of Critique 3 should read the answer there.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F12\ntarget: docs/research/zizek-schmachtenberger-connections.md:74\ntarget_words: \"it forces the user past cynical distance by requiring an evaluation of reasoning quality independent of agreement.\"\nolder: docs/research/assumption-ranking.md:16\nolder_words: \"The named mechanism by which this would fail, added 2026-08-27: belief bias.\"\nkind: narrows\nwhy: Two-axis voting is ranked the corpus's weakest assumption, with no argument-specific data. People endorse believable conclusions, and the effect is stronger on invalid arguments, which is exactly the cynical-distance failure. The refinement is that believability shifts the acceptance threshold rather than destroying discrimination. That makes it measurable per rater (rigor ratings on agreed versus disagreed claims) and calibratable. The Žižek note treats the device as already working.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F13\ntarget: docs/research/nativism-thread-and-false-dissolution.md:43\ntarget_words: \"The residue taxonomy currently treats `dissolved` as a clean outcome.\"\nolder: docs/research/session26-open-rulings.md:282\nolder_words: \"closure is read from whether the definitional claims get attacked\"\nkind: already-answers\nwhy: Ledger O1 (ruled 2026-09-16: \"choose definitional\") renamed `dissolved` to `definitional`. It names an outcome rather than a remainder type, and its closure is read from whether the definitional claims then get attacked. That is a graph-side form of this note's \"does anything change?\" test. O5 (blessed hedged 2026-09-15) adds that no horizon name should state an end state. The taxonomy no longer treats `dissolved` as clean, so the discriminator should be reconciled with O1.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F14\ntarget: docs/research/embeddings-tension-and-ai-slop.md:71\ntarget_words: \"but never INVISIBLE (silently merging based on embedding proximity).\"\nolder: docs/research/soft-canonical-clustering-and-reversible-merge-semantics.md:329\nolder_words: \"anyone types anything; careful auto-merge afterward; anyone (author or passerby) can split when truly warranted.\"\nkind: narrows\nwhy: The founder ruled on 2026-08-26 against a suggest-then-confirm design for claims: \"merely suggesting is putting too much freedom and work/mental friction on the user\". He chose careful auto-merge, with merges visible where the claim is read, the author notified, and splits recorded. Only the \"invisible\" half of the March rule survives. Ledger P12 shows he intends the same for concept senses, which is still undecided. \"Humans validate every sense cluster\" cannot be assumed.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F15\ntarget: docs/research/embeddings-tension-and-ai-slop.md:39\ntarget_words: \"The embedding captures a centroid that is none of these — a statistical ghost that represents no one's actual meaning.\"\nolder: docs/research/core-periphery-and-the-concept-layer.md:344\nolder_words: \"and the centroid is demoted from a *sense* anyone holds to the *origin* deltas are measured from.\"\nkind: narrows\nwhy: The later note keeps the \"ghost\" as a hazard in only one role. A sense a user ratifies is a centroid sense nobody holds (the proposed sixth flattening mechanism). It resolves this by using the centroid only as a coordinate origin for measuring deltas: \"harmless as a coordinate and harmful only as a bearer\". It also measured that live sense discovery is a detector template (49 of 90 concepts \"bifurcated\"), not embedding clusters. So this note's pipeline step 1 (\"embedding clusters discover senses\") does not describe the live system.\nstrength: medium\n\n### F16\ntarget: docs/research/dogfood-run-6-israel-palestine-cross-domain.md:274\ntarget_words: \"does the pipeline surface `ti1`/`ti3` from a text that never once uses the word \"occupation\"?\"\nolder: docs/research/cross-source-premise-run.md:54\nolder_words: \"The positive control did better than its own prediction.** It recovered the classificatory premise the corpus had found by *counting*\"\nkind: already-answers\nwhy: The next-run test is partly run. A pass that reads the opposed pair recovered the \"occupation\" classificatory premise from the one-sided silence, and found a second premise on legal hierarchy. The same note argues, and decomposition-axes.md:86 agrees, that a within-source pass cannot reach this class, because the premise is assumed, not missing, inside one text. So the question is better put as \"does a cross-source pass run?\", and it has been measured.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F17\ntarget: docs/research/why-representations-converge-and-whether-minds-do.md:95\ntarget_words: \"models agree *more* on problems they collectively fail (0.897) than on ones they solve\"\nolder: docs/research/what-counts-as-evidence/formal-and-computational-models-of-evidence.md:505\nolder_words: \"independent sources rarely make the *same* mistake. Shared true values are weak evidence of copying\"\nkind: same-mechanism-elsewhere\nwhy: Truth-discovery copy detection (Dong et al. 2009) holds that shared errors, not shared truths, reveal that two sources have a common origin, and copied votes are then discounted. The Convergence-Without-Understanding result, agreement being higher on failures than on successes, has the same signature. It identifies the models as one channel, not two witnesses. That gives §6.2's \"jury is weaker than it reads\" a testable detector and a discounting rule.\nstrength: strong\n\n### F18\ntarget: docs/research/contingency-and-convergence-across-levels.md:189\ntarget_words: \"missing condition: copy number counts only across lineages that do not share the relevant history.\"\nolder: docs/research/what-counts-as-evidence.md:385\nolder_words: \"agreement suggests copying; stemmatics turns that into a method in which **shared errors reveal a\"\nkind: supplies-a-missing-piece\nwhy: The note states the condition (count copies only across independent lineages) but not how to tell lineage-sharing from convergence in a claim graph. The evidence note gives the old method: Langlois and Seignobos's \"count agreement only in proportion to independence\", and stemmatics, where shared errors identify a common ancestor so a family of copies counts once. Ledger Q4 and R7 make source-independence structure an ontology proposal. The two-axis detector would be built on that.\nstrength: medium\n\nNoticed: (1) Dogfood L96 \"both [routes] are unbuilt\" is stale, since auto-connect-upgrade.md §2a/2b built them on 2026-08-20. I skipped it because found.jsonl already keeps that bearing under the dogfood to schmachtenberger-and-the-ai-race entry. (2) Further unreported pairs: Žižek L217 (incentive layer) against shared-sensemaking-what-deliberus-holds-and-owes.md:710 (V10, \"mere information\"); wiki L110-116 (friction table) against scaffolding-versus-difficulty.md §3; steelmanned L112 (\"extraction failure looks coherent\") against auto-connect-upgrade.md:97-99 (backwards links unseen for six months); consensus L88-100 (financing) against sff-2026-and-fiscal-sponsorship-path.md:7-9; nativism L23 (\"biased against companies\") against prime-real-estate-words.md (rebuke words carry standing). (3) Ledger R9 and R14 say P14's body still leads with the rejected delegation frame; the wiki note (L161) and ux-principles.md:270 (\"hormesis frame\") build on it.\n"}
